Week Two - Tuesday
Ora / Pray
Responsorial Psalm
Psalms 126: 1-6
R. The Lord has done great things for us; we are filled with joy.
When the LORD brought back the captives of Zion,
we were like men dreaming.
Then our mouth was filled with laughter,
and our tongue with rejoicing.
R. The Lord has done great things for us; we are filled with joy.
Then they said among the nations,
"The LORD has done great things for them."
The LORD has done great things for us;
we are glad indeed.
R. The Lord has done great things for us; we are filled with joy.
Restore our fortunes, O LORD,
like the torrents in the southern desert.
Those who sow in tears
shall reap rejoicing.
R. The Lord has done great things for us; we are filled with joy.
Although they go forth weeping,
carrying the seed to be sown,
They shall come back rejoicing,
carrying their sheaves.
R. The Lord has done great things for us; we are filled with joy.
Labora / Work
St. Augustine said, “He therefore who sows plentifully, shall reap plentifully: he who sows sparingly, shall reap also sparingly: and he that sows nothing, shall reap nothing.” Applying this to the effort put forth in your marriage, how well are you sowing? If we want a marriage filled with joy we must work for a marriage filled with joy, sowing seeds of quality time, affirming words, acts of service, gifts from the heart, or physical touch. Ask yourself if you are loving your spouse in his/her love language. (If you’re not sure what that is, click here.) Small and simple acts of love shown in a specific way, plentifully, will reap plentiful rewards in your marriage and family. "The Lord has done great things for us." He has given us ways to specifically love the other so that we can bring His joy more fully into our relationship. Today make a conscious effort to sow seeds of love by loving your spouse in his/her specific love language.
