It’s Saturday and only three days until Advent comes to an end and the celebration of the birth of Christ is upon us. It also means we are coming close to the end of these Advent Reflections. Just as a grain of wheat must fall to the ground and die for a new wheat plant to grow, we, as husband and wife, must also do some dying to self to grow into a new and beautiful relationship that honors God. One of the very best ways to accomplish this task is to go to Confession and implore the mercy of the Lord and then to follow with the reception of the Eucharist at Mass. Most parishes offer the Sacrament of Reconciliation on Saturdays. How about making a date of it? Take your spouse to Confession today and then go out and celebrate clean souls together. Then either tonight or in the morning, attend Mass together and receive the love that Christ has for each of you and for both of you as a married couple. Let His gift of Himself nourish each of you and also your marriage.
